If a person passes away at home and the death is expected, the first call you make should be to the person’s GP. The GP will usually attend to confirm the death and give permission for the deceased to be transferred to our private chapel of rest. As soon as we are notified of the death, we will gather preliminary information and ascertain when we can arrange the removal of the deceased.

We are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  The family’s wishes are our primary concern and after immediate assistance, we establish when it will be convenient to make the final arrangements. The GP will normally issue a Medical Certificate of Cause of Death within the next 48 hours, which you collect from the surgery.

If a person passes away unexpectedly we advise you to call an ambulance who will then be able to guide you with the next steps. Usually a coroner will end up getting involved.
